Course Format

Total of 49 hours of blended learning. Online allowing students to join from any time-zone and location.

• 3x Video introduction to each unit (30 minutes)

• Guided eLearning / Self-study through VLE (38.5 hours)

• Series of multiple-choice knowledge checks throughout course

• 2x 1:1 tuition with trainer (2 hours)

• 2-part practical assessment (2 hours)

• 2x Practical assessment comprising 3 video submissions.

• 3x Online written examination (3 hours)

Introduction to Yachting & Yachting Life:

1. Yacht industry demographics, guidelines for employment and job searching.

2. Onboard departments, chain of command and personal health/wellbeing.

3. Required standards of Behaviour, Personal Presentation & Work Ethics.

4. Effective communication & communication styles.

5. Etiquette for meeting & interacting with guests & crew members. 

6. The basic structure of International Maritime Law and Health & Safety.

Food & Beverages Service:

1. Standards of behaviour, personal presentation, and work ethics 

2. Principles of food and beverage service operations 

3. Food service techniques and service styles 

Housekeeping & Laundry Service:

1. An introduction to yacht interior housekeeping 

2. Laundry procedures and duties

3. Handling guest personal items and luggage

Key Takeaways

You will receive certificates for the following GUEST Units: 23, 02 and 32 alongside 3 certificates from The Crew Academy upon completion of all courses.
