The Yacht Owner’s Representative Program (YORP) is the fully-accredited qualification designed to set a new industry standard for the role of an Owner's Representative (OR).
Backed by SYBAss and accredited by IAMI & GUEST, the program has been developed to provide a deep understanding and practical knowledge on the leadership, operational and technical skills required for this role. It is directed at all existing and aspiring owner’s representatives, project managers, captains, officers and contractors working in any shipyard on behalf of a yacht owner.
Course Overview
The Crew Academy course is delivered 100% online in collaboration with specialist contractors, shipyard personnel and other industry experts who deliver live guest lectures throughout the course.
This YORP covers all the practical tools ORs need to have in order to deliver a new build or refit: from project management and compliance; to the finer details of yacht design and build; as well as financial, legal and administrative knowledge.

The TCA program consists of 45 hours of live teaching, 45 hours of pre-recorded interviews and 60 hours of self study over 8 weeks.

How flexible are you if work gets too much?
We understand that working onboard a yacht involves an unpredictable schedule. So, if you need to pause your training, we can transfer you to a different cohort throughout the year, if needed.
Will you help me get a job?
Following the end of the course, we support all of our graduates to progress their career through our in-house talent management team at The Crew Hunter. You will also join our alumni network of professionals who have completed the YORP to help build more industry connections.

The YORP is always packed with a diverse range of professionals within the superyacht industry, including existing Owners' Representatives, Pursers, Captains, Galley Build Consultants, Chief of Staff, Yacht Brokers, Technical Consultants, Chief Engineers, and Chief Officers, just to name a few.
Can I join future cohorts?
Yes, absolutely! All graduates are welcome to return to future sessions. This means you have access to listen to any new speakers and the option to refresh your memory. Plus it's a great way to stay updated and to network.
How long and when are the sessions?
During this course, you will attend a mixture of live masterclasses and interactive sessions, taking place from 5 to 7pm UK time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. All sessions are recorded so you can catch up later if you can't make a particular session but we recommend joining as many sessions live as possible.
