The Crew Academy’s HOD & Crew Administration Program is open to all HODs looking to gain practical knowledge and skills in Management, Leadership, Mental Health Awareness, Human Vulnerability, Cyber Security, HR, Recruitment and Retention.
Suitable for all Heads of Department including Officers, Pursers, Chief Steward/esses, Chief Engineers, Bosuns and DPAs, this program provides all the practical knowledge and tools needed to navigate the tricky world of managing teams on board.
The course brings together a diverse portfolio of participants, including those at HOD, management level or equivalent, with a shared interest and experience in leadership roles in the maritime sector.

Course Format
This comprehensive leadership and administration program is a combination of four courses including:
- GUEST-accredited Advanced Leadership (Units 17 and 22)
- GUEST-accredited Captain & HOD Mental Health & Wellbeing Awareness
- GUEST & TCA-accredited HR, Recruitment & Retention (Unit 30)
- Human & Cyber Vulnerability Awareness with Romeo Foxtrot
Study that fits around you:
Participants can study at a time and pace that suits them. Choose a start date for the Leadership element of the course (3 day or 2 week format) and then join various courses throughout the year.
