The Crew Academy’s Refit Project Management Diploma is a fully accredited professional qualification designed to establish a new industry benchmark for excellence in superyacht refit management.
Developed in collaboration with leading refit project managers, naval architects, senior engineers, shipyards and technical specialists, this program delivers the operational, technical, and administrative expertise required to manage a refit from initial planning through to re-delivery.
Participants gain the complete set of practical tools needed to oversee the full refit lifecycle: scope development, budgeting and cost control, engineering and systems considerations, contractor selection and supervision, compliance, documentation, scheduling, quality assurance, procurement, warranty oversight and post-refit reporting.
The course is delivered over 5 days, in-person at our dedicated facility in STP shipyard. Alternatively, you can join in the conversation live online via Zoom. This program also includes 10 live sessions with our expert list of guest speakers, delivered online via the kelp. training platform including a mixture of interactive in-person and online masterclasses with additional self study.

Course Format

Held over 5 days, in-person or online via Zoom (9am to 4:30pm)

Students booking onto the Refit Project Management Diploma with The Crew Academy will gain immediate access to the full course content and library of resources. Students must complete all self-study and live training within the 12 month period of booking.

Please note:
Students must possess good knowledge of verbal and written English to successfully complete this program.
Students must have some formal basic training and / or 1 season of onboard experience.
Students must have a good working knowledge of onboard SOPs and administration.
Students must be at least 18 years old.
Refit Management - Live Training
Training takes place daily, for the duration of your stay. Sessions will run from 9am to 6pm, with regular breaks, and an hour for lunch each day at 12pm, followed by dinner.

Accepted formats: Word (.docx) or PDF.
Before you upload, check that all seven sections are present and clearly labelled, and that you have deleted every grey guidance box from the template. Your decision record in section seven should respond to Event 1 from your chosen scenario.
You need 75% to pass. Your tutor will return the assignment with written feedback against each of the five marking criteria, usually within ten working days. If it does not pass, fix what the feedback identifies and upload again — there is no limit on resubmissions and no penalty for using them.
