TCA – Refit Project Management program

The Crew Academy’s Refit Project Management program is a fully accredited professional qualification designed to establish a new industry benchmark for excellence in superyacht refit management.

Developed in collaboration with leading refit project managers, naval architects, senior engineers, shipyards and technical specialists, this program delivers the operational, technical, and administrative expertise required to manage a refit from initial planning through to re-delivery.

Participants gain the complete set of practical tools needed to oversee the full refit lifecycle: scope development, budgeting and cost control, engineering and systems considerations, contractor selection and supervision, compliance, documentation, scheduling, quality assurance, procurement, warranty oversight and post-refit reporting.

The course is delivered 100% online via kelp. in collaboration with a mix of interactive masterclasses and self study.

It is directed at those who want to become or act as an Owner’s Representative, including:

• Captains

• Chief Engineers

•  Pursers & Senior HODs involved in refit planning

• Shipyard Project Managers

• Contractors and Surveyors

• Technical Managers, Consultants and Management Company Personnel

• Anyone overseeing refit works on behalf of a yacht owner or yacht management company

Course Format

• Held over 10 weeks online via Zoom, or 6 days as a Residential program

• Learning content and self-study modules are delivered online via kelp. 

• Weekly live interactive sessions

• 10 weeks online, with 2 live sessions each week

• 6 day Residential - held over 6 days in Mallorca

• 40 hours of live teaching, plus 60 hours of guided self-study via kelp.

• Written assessments to consolidate and demonstrate learning

Accreditation

Upon completion of the program, learners will be awarded the following certificate:

• The Crew Academy certificate - Refit Project Management

Platform Access

Students booking onto the Refit Project Management program with The Crew Academy will gain immediate access to the full course content and library of resources. Students must complete all self-study and live training within the 12 month period of booking.
