TCA – New Build Document Specialist (Owner’s Team)

This program will be launching in 2026!

The Crew Academy’s New Build Document Specialist (Owner’s Team)  program is designed to give students a clear understanding of how a yacht is built and how documentation drives progress, payments and performance.

Participants will learn how to anticipate milestones, manage information across teams and communicate with authority between the shipyard and the Owner.

The course is delivered 100% online via kelp. in collaboration with a mix of interactive masterclasses and self study.

It is directed at professionals who represent or support the Owner during a yacht build or refit, including:

• Owner’s Representatives and Project Managers

•  Captains, Pursers, and Chief Engineers preparing for delivery

•  Yacht Management and Compliance Officers

•  Crew members transitioning into new build or coordination roles

•  Operations staff supporting Owner’s Teams or management companies

No prior shipyard or document control experience is required, only professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

Course Format

• Held over 5 days online via Zoom

• Delivered online via kelp. 

• Live interactive sessions are held from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm UK.

• 60 hours of guided self-study completed flexibly over 12 weeks.

• Written assessments to consolidate and demonstrate learning.

• Access to a digital library of specialist resources and templates.

Accreditation

Upon completion of the program, learners will be awarded the following certificate:

• The Crew Academy certificate - New Build Document Specialist (Owner's Team)

Platform Access

Students booking onto the New Build Document Specialist with The Crew Academy will gain immediate access to the full course content and library of resources. Students must complete all self-study and live training within the 12 month period of booking.
