The MCA-accredited Oral Preparation for Bridge and Deck program is designed to help deck officers prepare with confidence for their MCA oral examination.
This eLearning program is delivered entirely through our virtual learning environment kelp. This allows students the opportunity to study from any location in the world, working through the material entirely at their own pace via any device.
Focused on preparing deck officers for their oral exam, the course gives officers a thorough grounding in the topics examiners commonly ask, from navigation and stability to COLREGs and emergency procedures, building both technical recall and the confidence to explain it clearly under questioning.
Please note: this course covers theoretical and knowledge-based preparation only. It does not replace, and cannot substitute for, the official in-person MCA oral examination required to obtain your MCA qualification.

Accreditation
An MCA certificate will be issued through the successful passing of the online examination.
After completing the course, you will officially be part of our Alumni community and will have free access to our Mental health courses for free as well as exclusive discounts on our other courses.

Oral Preparation for Bridge & Deck (MCA-accredited)
Developed by Whitehorse Maritime Academy, in partnership with the Marine Society, this module takes you through your vessel's electronic navigational equipment in detail and teaches you what you need to know in terms of principles, set-up and operation. It also pairs our in-depth and up-to-date eLearning resources with our revolutionary AI Personal Tutor and our podcast series, powered by WhitehorseAI.
