The IAMI GUEST accredited Food & Beverage Services program is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful career in the Interior department onboard superyachts.
During this program you will learn how to anticipate guest needs and consistently exceed expectations. You will also master the principles of impeccable guest service including table setting, beverage preparation and presentation.
The program also gives you an understanding of the proper sequence in the order of service, ensuring you can serve guests in a seamless and efficient manner. You will also learn about how to prepare your workspace, mise en place, and how to smoothly operate service.
You will also gain vital training in food safety, covering essential standards and practices for the safe handling, storage, and service of food, along with crucial hygiene practices and allergy awareness, all of which are non-negotiable for professional yacht crew.
Course Format

10 and a half hours of guided eLearning through the kelp platform.

Series of multiple-choice knowledge checks throughout the course.

Practical assessments throughout.

Online examination to complete (30 multiple choice or short answer questions, 1 hour).

After completing the course, you will officially be part of our Alumni community and will have free access to our Mental Health courses as well as discounts on other courses.
Platform access
Students booking onto the Food and Beverage Service program with The Crew Academy will gain immediate access to the full course content and library of resources. Students must complete all self-study and live training within the 12 month period of booking.

Please note:
Students must possess good knowledge of verbal and written English to successfully complete this program.
Students must have some formal basic training and / or 1 season of onboard experience.
Students must have a good working knowledge of onboard SOPs and administration.
Students must be at least 18 years old.
Throughout the duration of this course, students will study the following modules:
Standards of behaviour, personal presentation, and work ethics
Principles of food and beverage service operations
Food service techniques and service styles
