TCA – Advanced Food & Beverage Service (IAMI GUEST Unit 05)

The Crew Academy's IAMI and GUEST accredited Advanced Food & Beverages Service course allows you to take your service skills to the next level. This program is a comprehensive guide to mastering exquisite service styles, demanded of interior crew onboard superyachts.

During your time studying this program, you will master unforgettable dining experiences by learning all about menu management, how to personalise guest experiences, and how to use luxury ingredients.

The program also gives you the tools needed to handle diverse situations with confidence, such as complaint handling to inventory management on board, and how to lead your service team with confidence.

Course Format

  • Guided self-study through the virtual learning platform, kelp.

  • Series of multiple-choice knowledge checks throughout the course.

  • Practical assessments to complete.

  • Online examination (30 multiple choice or short answer questions, 1 hour).

Before you begin your pre-course reading, you will need to upload the following documents to confirm your eligibility for the course before enrolment.

Please note:

  • Students must possess good knowledge of verbal and written English to successfully complete this program.

  • Students must have some formal basic training and / or 1 season of onboard experience.

  • Students must have a good working knowledge of onboard SOPs and administration.

  • Students must be at least 18 years old.

Self-Study Content Online Course

Throughout the duration of this course, students will study the following modules:

  • Different table service styles and culinary/service terminology.

  • Different food and beverage services and service preparations.

  • Food & beverage standard operating procedures and the service recovery model.
